Assistant Director, Research & Policy Analysis

Job Duties

The National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) seeks an Assistant Director. Research and Policy Analysis, to service in the association's Advocacy, Communications, and Research department. In this position, the successful candidate will help provide data analysis and support for several NACUBO annual surveys--including our endowment study and tuition discounting study--and will help manage several other survey and data collection projects. The position will also:

*  Use Microsoft Excel, SPSS, and Stata to manipulate and analyze statistical data
* Perform data entry, editing, and cleaning tasks that ensure the accuracy of NACUBO survey data
* Prepare charts, tables, graphs, infographics, and PowerPoint slides that summarize the results of NACUBO research
* Update NACUBO research web pages and other online content
* Write articles for NACUBO membership magazine, electronic newsletter, and other publications
* Respond to various member requests for research-related data and information
* Represent NACUBO and present the results of NACUBO research at meetings and conferences

Job Qualifications

Interested candidates should have a graduate degree (preferred) from an accredited four-year college or university with coursework in business, finance, economics, statistics, and/or research methods; and two years of prior work experience as a research assistant or associate in a higher education institution or related organization. Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required, as is the ability to work collaboratively on multiple projects simultaneously. A high-level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of software and working knowledge of Stata, SPSS, or other statistical software package is preferred. Knowledge of web-based survey software (especially Qualtrics), and prior professional experience with using primary and secondary data in conducting research is also preferred.
