Job Duties

Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty, the successful candidate will lead a small staff of IR professionals and join the academic leadership team, directing institution-wide efforts to collect and analyze critical data needed to advance the institution’s objectives related to strategic planning, assessment, accreditation, evaluation of programmatic effectiveness, admissions and retention. The Director of IR will design and oversee systems to provide the University with the high quality quantitative and qualitative data and research analysis needed for optimal decision-making and to inform institutional planning and strategic initiatives.

Job Qualifications

An appropriate Master’s or Ph.D. degree with at least 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in the use of data or business analysis, especially in an institutional research office preferred. Exceptional candidates with an appropriate Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of progressively responsible administrative institutional research experience will be considered. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate expertise in Microsoft Access, Excel, SQL, SPSS and other common statistical and database packages. Expertise in data visualization software such as Tableau and Veera also essential. Experience using U.S. national-level datasets such as AAU Data Exchange, IPEDS, Academic Analytics, National Student Clearinghouse is a plus. Familiarity with the accreditation requirements of U.S. regional accrediting bodies also preferred.

Institution Description

The Office of Academic Affairs at Habib University invites applications for the new position of Director of Institutional Research. Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty, the successful candidate will lead a small staff of IR professionals and join the academic leadership team, directing institution-wide efforts to collect and analyze critical data needed to advance the institution’s objectives related to strategic planning, assessment, accreditation, evaluation of programmatic effectiveness, admissions and retention. The successful candidate will have extensive training and experience with research methods, statistics, and data visualization, preferably with an appropriate graduate degree in data studies, mathematics, statistics, management information systems, information technology, computer science, business, higher education administration or a relevant social science field.
