Loyola Marymount University is seeking an Associate Director of Institutional Research. Under the guidance of the Senior Director of Institutional Research and Decision Support, the Associate Director will provide leadership and support in the use of data for decision making and planning; manage Institutional Research data requests and oversee data management processes; oversee the development of reports and research studies to inform planning and decision making; supervise Institutional Research staff; and collaborate with Decision Support staff to support the development of reporting in the Decision Support Environment.
Typically a Master’s Degree in the social sciences, statistics, or a related field (doctorate preferred). Minimum three years of experience in institutional research, data analysis, and research design and implementation in an institution of higher learning or other similar setting. We are seeking candidates with in-depth knowledge in the areas of quantitative research methods, research design, and advanced statistical analysis techniques. High level of proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as SAS, SPSS, or STATA. Experience with STATA is preferred. We also seek candidates that have experience with querying databases using SQL or other programming knowledge; experience with Banner is a plus. Additionally, ideal candidates will have a thorough familiarity with the academic enterprise within a university and knowledge of key issues and concepts in higher education. The ability to prioritize and manage multiple and varied projects and initiatives as well as exemplify highly developed organizational, leadership and project management skills is required.
