The Decision Support Analyst administers College of Charleston data systems maintained by the IR office. Completes the data-to-information life cycle to include designing, testing, documentation, deployment, maintenance and support. Designs and maintains reports and dashboards for internal campus and public consumption, including the Board of Trustees.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, mathematics/statistics, engineering, management information science, data processing or related field and a minimum of two years’ experience with Tableau, Cognos, SQL, and/or SAS within a higher education setting is required. Working knowledge of methods and techniques of data extraction, analysis, and reporting is preferred. A master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience. Experience working in a higher education environment is preferred. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Understanding of methods and techniques of data extraction, analysis and reporting. Current knowledge and understanding of the data and information that is important to an academic institution. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and to communicate effectively. Must be able to work well under strict deadlines. Preferred: Knowledge of specific computer software packages such as Tableau and Cognos, programming languages and operating systems, including Ellucian Banner databases, SQL, Cognos, SAS, HTML, and Microsoft Office.
