The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is a comprehensive, four-year public institution of higher education founded in 1866. With tuition that ranks among the lowest for four-year colleges in the University of Wisconsin System, students receive a first-class education for a lot less. At UW-Platteville, students will find the advantages of a large university—challenging academics, opportunities for undergraduate research, state-of-the-art labs and facilities, renowned faculty, and notable alumni—combined with the benefits of a small, supportive, and safe environment.
The average class size is around 25 students, meaning that professors know students’ names, and students won’t find themselves at the back of a lecture hall with a teaching assistant at the front. All classes are taught by faculty who are leaders in their field and accessible to students, in and out of the classroom.
The University of Wisconsin (UW) System offers a comprehensive benefits package to meet the diverse needs of our community. The University contributes towards the cost of several benefit plans, which is a valuable piece of employees total compensation. Other plans offer favorable group rates and convenient payroll deduction to employees. Some health and life insurance premiums are taken from salary on a pre-tax basis, helping to save money.
