Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develops and implements an annual institutional research agenda related to the strategic and operational plans of the University.
Maintains regular publications describing the history, organization, programs, students, faculty, staff, finances and other information of the University.
Utilizes student information system databases (Colleague and other systems) to retrieve, clean, and organize institutional data.
Works with faculty, staff and other constituents to fulfill institutional data reporting needs, both internal and external, and to facilitate planning, budgeting, grant applications, and policy decisions in their respective areas.
Conducts and develops economic development, workforce development, and community impact studies.
Coordinates with all units in preparing reports, conducting analyses, and administering surveys.
Manages the coordination of federal, state, and other external reporting requirements.
Produce clear and concise written and oral reports.
The Office of Institutional Research also supports the administration, analysis, and reporting of a broad suite of surveys (e.g., CIRP Freshman, HERI Faculty or FSSE, and NSSE).
Develops an ongoing "data catalog/warehouse" suitable for trend analysis, predictive studies and other data-related services in order to enhance information flow between and within University divisions and units.
Prior higher education leadership experience in this or a closely related area of expertise.
Strong analytical skills and experience. Familiarity with databases, i.e. Colleague, are preferred.
Excellent writing and analytical skills with the ability to compile and analyze data and prepare reports in relation to policy questions, research purposes, and strategic planning efforts. This includes, but is not limited to: assessments in areas related to student success, student data analysis (such as enrollment, retention, graduation, and time to degree), and academic data analysis (such as productivity and cost of instruction).
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, and to work collaboratively and independently toward project completion.
Demonstrated success in communicating successfully with a range of stakeholders thus facilitating the use of data to inform planning on multiple levels.
Ability to communicate complex and technical information in a clear and concise manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective, collegial working relationships with campus constituents.
