Job Duties

The Office of Admission at Wesleyan University serves as the hub of activity and point of first contact for the university for thousands of prospective students and families. The admissions team is responsible for generating, processing and reviewing over 12,000 first-year and transfer applications per year and hosts over 15,000 individual visitors on campus annually while promoting the university virtually and hosting events all over the world.

Reporting to the Vice President and Dean of Admission and Financial Aid the Associate Dean/Director of Admission Systems and Analytics (ADDASA) is responsible for leading all activities in the admission office related to database management, information systems and data analytics in support of strategic data-driven decision-making.

In conjunction with the admission leadership team, this role plans, implements, and analyzes recruitment strategies and student behavior to help Wesleyan’s Office of Admission achieve enrollment and institutional goals.

The ADDASA has responsibility for the functional management of the college's recruiting and admissions information system and reporting tool(s). This role serves as the functional lead for Technolutions Slate implementation and improvement; Common, Coalition, and QuestBridge Applications and works collaboratively with the Information Technology (ITS) staff to maintain and develop necessary functionality and bridges to other university databases such as PowerFAIDS and PeopleSoft. In addition, this role represents the Office of Admission at University-wide meetings and professional conferences related to technology and data.

The ADDASA is responsible for assessing and fine-tuning the enrollment data base and related reporting systems to optimize efficiency and capacity to provide individualized and highly personal support to and communication with both internal and external constituents.

The ADDASA serves as an internal consultant regarding utilization of database features and data analytics in the operations of recruitment, selection and communication with prospects, applicants, key stakeholders on and off campus.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors’ Degree and least 5 years of experience in student services (admission, financial aid, registrar) or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Solid consulting and analytical skills.

Experience analyzing business requirements and developing project plans.

Experience with system implementation and/or upgrades

Experience designing, developing, testing and implementing database solutions.

Experience translating data and business process needs between end users and technical staff.  

Effective project management skills

Effective communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and with confidential information. Professionalism, tact, judgement, flexibility and a commitment to team work.

Demonstrated creative problem-solving and strategic-thinking skills. 

Demonstrated commitment to work within a diverse environment and interact openly with individuals of different backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

Database management experience in an admission or enrollment management office.

Experience with Technolutions Slate, PeopleSoft or other CRM.
