Develops executive decision support and enterprise core business intelligence models, tools, and processes for University leadership. Provides expertise within the academic affairs unit of the University in data modeling, prescriptive and predictive analysis, and visualization products to support the University's ClemsonForward strategic plan. Performs other duties as assigned.
35% - Essential - Data Science:
Leads predictive and prescriptive modeling efforts related to student success, achievement, and outcomes. Works with leadership within Academic Affairs to deploy descriptive analysis, and prescriptive and predictive modeling of academic and support program effectiveness and improvements. Supports Academic Affairs units and related analytics personnel in prescriptive and predictive modeling of human, financial, capital, and data resource utilization and effectiveness.
25% - Essential - Data Governance and Management:
Works with pan-University partners to develops, deploy, and support University data management and governance protocols related to data access, architecture, maintenance, and oversight as needed or required. Collaborates with IT-based ETL group to define and ensure availability to needed data elements. Engages with the community of data stewards, and data trustees to contribute to the University's current and future efforts at meta-data and master data management within Academic Affairs. Commitment to and support of data science and analytics as core business-located center of excellence in the University's Enterprise Information Management Plan.
25% - Essential - Business Process and Tool Development:
Engages data stewards and business analysts in other units to define, develop, and implement business processes, business process changes, policies, and initiatives that support the ClemsonForward strategic plan, student success and achievement, high value resource utilization, robust data governance, and the University's master data management efforts. Transforms insight and prescriptive and predictive models into high-UX decision support and university intelligence tools and visualizations for a variety of end-users ranging from senior administrative leadership to faculty to staff advisors.
15% - Essential - Service Leadership:
Supports work of analytics personnel and data managers in other units as able and assigned, and able to serve as a member of cross-unit teams devoted to high-priority and -value pan-University projects. Provides data-guided counsel and recommendations regarding obstacles and potential solutions impacting student success, strategic academic goals, and academic resourcing to Academic Affairs leadership. Proactively gathers, audits, and examines external and internal data to identify future challenges and opportunities for enhancing student success and fulfilling strategic University goals as a thought leader within the Institutional Effectiveness team.
