Director of Institutional Effectiveness

Job Duties

Applications are being accepted for the full-time position of director of institutional effectiveness.  The director oversees the college's efforts related to effectiveness across the institution. Working closely with senior administrators, faculty, and students, the director helps identify and implement institutional research and assessment activities to foster student success and institutional effectiveness. The position also coordinates and assists with campus-wide efforts to collect, analyze, interpret, and disseminate institutional data for purposes of curricular enhancement, strategic planning and decision-making, policy development, institutional improvement, and external reporting.  The director serves as the college's liaison with the Higher Learning Commission.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications

A master's degree, institutional research and/or assessment of student learning experience, and administrative experience required.  An advanced degree in higher education, college student learning and development, measurement and statistics, or other relevant area preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in college student learning assessment and program evaluation.
  • Knowledge of research methodologies and assessment practices, with the ability to apply these skills to research projects in a higher education environment.
  • Excellent organizational, oral, written and presentation skills, with attention to details and deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies.
  • Software and computer skills, including word processing, administrative database software, database/spreadsheet software (Excel and Access), statistical analysis packages (SPSS, Mini-Tab), desktop publishing, and web site maintenance.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data and translate it for non-technical audiences.
  • Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards, particularly confidentiality.
