•Provide general analytic and data analysis services for APLU and its grant-funded projects, ensuring services are completed on time and following established procedures.
•Create data visualizations and dashboards to support both internal and external audiences, using data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), National Science Foundation Higher Education Research and Development Survey (NSF HERDS), College Scorecard, etc.
•Develop and administer surveys for APLU offices and grant-funded projects, including survey design, implementation, fielding, and analysis.
•Collaborate with other DPA staff to develop data-focused policy briefs, white papers, blogs, etc.
•Create resources for APLU employees, including dashboards and factbooks. Design and implement trainings to support APLU employee use of data and analysis in their work.
•Perform data updates, quality control, documentation, and other duties as assigned.
•Participate as an integral member of APLU and the DPA Team, and contribute to an inclusive, welcoming, and collegial workplace.
•Master’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
•A minimum of two to three years of data analysis experience, preferably working with higher education datasets. Work experience at a college/university, a higher education organization, or a non-profit organization preferred.
•Experience using and creating dashboards with data visualization software such as Microsoft Power BI.
•Experience developing and administering surveys via survey software (e.g., Qualtrics, Survey Monkey).
•Experience and comfort working with data, spreadsheets statistical software (e.g., R, Python, or SAS).
•Familiarity with higher education datasets (e.g., IPEDS, NSF HERDS, College Scorecard, etc.).
•Significant experience and skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Office365 products.
•Experience implementing complex, multi-faceted projects of varying scope and duration. Excellent time management and organizational skills are required.
•Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a diverse, cross-functional team as well as an ability to carry out tasks independently. Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
