Job Duties

Responsibilities

Provide decision support for policy decisions, program needs, program effectiveness, and student flourishing across divisions and departments within the College:

  • Use quantitative, qualitative, or mixed research methods to assess student learning and program effectiveness and to support institutional decision-making.
  • Support survey research, which includes survey design, administration and logistics, data analysis, presentation and visualization of results.
  • Analyze data from College systems and publicly-available sources to produce insights, decision-support, and required reports for campus stakeholders (e.g., senior leadership, academic departments, campus committees). Reports may include tables, charts, dashboards, executive summaries, or other formats as needed.
  • Undertake data visualization initiatives to make institutional data more accessible and available.
  • Fully engage in campus-wide efforts to further equity and inclusion goals, e.g. engaging in research practices that promote strengths-based (rather than deficit-based) frameworks.
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of all records and other documents consumed or produced on behalf of IR&A or the College

Job Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Proficient with SPSS, R, or similar quantitative analysis tool. Proficient with Excel.
  • Experience with qualitative methods, including the use of qualitative analysis tools, such as ATLAS.ti.
  • Excellent project management skills, e.g. experience handling multiple requests from stakeholders - in both formal and informal settings, documenting processes, creating project timelines, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working effectively with the IR&A team of staff and student Research Assistants, and  establishing partnerships with stakeholders across campus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly about institutional research data, and assessment methods and results, in non-technical language.
  • Experience with visualization software preferred, e.g. Power BI
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 2 years of graduate/professional experience in higher education, social science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $60,000-$61,350, depending on experience.
