Job Duties
This role is responsible for:
- Research projects and data analysis.
- Data collection, interpretation, and reporting.
- Implementation and use of automated tools that collect, aggregate, and distribute data inside and outside the colleges.
- Data extraction using SQL Server Management Studio and T-SQL.
- Analysis using statistical software such as SPSS and Stata.
Job Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, including college-level coursework in statistics, research methodology, and/or information science. Or an equivalent mix of education and experience that demonstrates the candidate meets all competency requirements for this position.
- Ability to develop, write and present research studies, survey results and reports.
- Experience working with end-users to develop data visualizations, dashboards, and reports, and using analytics tools and systems.
- Demonstrated ability to use current software applications; Microsoft Office 365 Suite, SPSS, STATA, SSMS, T-SQL, SSRS, Tableau, and Qualtrics.
- Demonstrated ability to write scripts to analyze data and perform specific data queries using SQL.
- Experience using qualitative quantitative/statistical research methodologies.
- Experience designing and deploying interactive web-based dashboards with drill-down features using development tools such as SSRS and Tableau

Salary Range: $65,497 - $74,041
Starting salary for this position is: $65,497 (Annually)

What you'll do:
The Institutional Research Associate provides research, reporting, and data analysis that helps Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS) leadership make data-informed decisions to drive our key strategic priority areas of student success and operational excellence.
The Institutional Research Associate works under the District Lead Data Analyst and oversees efforts related to data collection, interpretation, and use. The person in this role will conduct institutional research projects and manage the submission of required state and federal compliance reports.

This is a contracted, exempt management position. Medical, dental life and long term disability insurance benefits are provided as currently administered under the Public Employees Benefits Board; TIAA-Cref retirement plan or WA State Retirement Plan. Vacation leave accrues at the rate of 14.67 hours per month (22 days per year) and sick leave accrues at the rate of 8 hours per month, effective upon employment. (For positions that are less than full time, leave accruals will be prorated to the percentage of the position.)
