Tenured/Tenure-Track Open Rank Professor in Higher Education

Job Duties
- Conduct high-quality research and disseminate it in peer-reviewed journals and other well-regarded outlets.
- Maintain a clear program of research and obtain external funds to support research.
- Teach and supervise graduate Higher Education and Student Affairs courses.
- Mentor and advise master’s and doctoral students, including leading and serving on doctoral dissertation committees.
- Work to ensure equitable program experiences and outcomes for groups underrepresented in higher education.
- Participate in departmental and university service activities.
Program Information
The Higher Education and Student Affairs Program at Indiana University Bloomington is a top-ranked program according to U.S. News and World Report. The program serves undergraduate and graduate students through its undergraduate major, masters, specialist, doctoral, and professional certificate programs. Program faculty support the Center for Postsecondary Research (CPR), which houses several large research projects.
Job Qualifications
- Doctorate in higher education, student affairs administration, or a closely related field earned by start date.
- Proven record of peer-reviewed published scholarship commensurate with their rank.
- Strong record of externally funded research, commensurate with rank.
- For candidates applying for the Associate- or Full-rank position: Evidence of effective graduate teaching, advising, and mentoring.
- Proven record of obtaining large, federally-funded grants.
- Expertise in employing critical quantitative methods and working with large data sets.
- Experience with teaching and advising graduate students in higher education and student affairs, including directing dissertation studies.
- Although the area of specialty is open, we prefer applicants whose research and teaching complements or extends our program’s emphasis on DEIJ.
