Job Duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop infrastructure for signature research areas in the college
- Oversight of faculty mentoring on research and scholarship
- Develop and implement college-level research enrichment initiatives
- Evaluate funding opportunities for faculty and develop teams for interdisciplinary collaborative research at the institutional, regional, and national levels
- Work with the Division of Research and Economic Development (DORED) on all aspects of research administration including compliance and financial issues
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Develop the college’s research infrastructure, including a focus on training of graduate students and postdocs
- Leadership qualities and abilities needed to help the college achieve its vision of being internationally acclaimed for its interdisciplinary and innovative research
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various internal and external constituencies, promote interdisciplinary research, and work with a culturally diverse population.
Job Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Earned doctorate in a discipline aligned with degree programs within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences
- Scholarly accomplishments commensurate with the rank of Associate or Full Professor in their discipline.
- A record of securing external grant funding for research
- Minimum of five years conducting independent research and managing research funded programs
- Familiarity with federal grant finance and compliance issues
- Experience evaluating research proposals
