Job Duties
Data Analysis and Reporting:·
Develops multiple reports summarizing student, course, and program-level data and performance, including end-of-course and end-of-year reports, and institutional surveys.Generates individual student performance reports for Student Evaluation and Promotion Committee
Provides data analysis support for internal reports and surveys.
In consultation with Office of IDEAS leadership, responds to ad-hoc data requests.
Performs routine statistical analysis, including descriptive statistics, exam item psychometrics, correlation and multiple linear regression analysis, reliability statistics, t-tests, and analysis of variance (ANOVA).
Support data driven decision making and planning.·
Other data analysis and reporting needs as requested by Office of IDEAS leadership.
Data Management:·
Maintains longitudinal data files, tracking student performance data across the curriculum, ensuring data integrity, for the purposes of performing statistical analysis and educational research.
Supports data governance initiative, including developing and maintaining data dictionaries and systems and process documentation.
Maintains exam incident data, including data cleaning and inserting unique student identifiers, for longitudinal tracking and reporting
Assists with the design and development of specific databases for collection, tracking, and reporting of curriculum, performance, and evaluation data, as appropriate to the position.
Maintains course and faculty evaluation data and files for data reporting and analysis. ·
Other data management needs as requested by Office of IDEAS leadership.
Evaluation:
Manages the development and assignment of faculty and module evaluations for pre-clerkship courses and tracks student completion.
In consultation with Office of IDEAS leadership, supports ad-hoc requests from faculty, staff, and administration for new surveys or evaluations, including development, distribution, and reporting
Maintains data files of external program surveys, e.g. AAMC Graduate Questionnaire, and supports the reporting and analysis of results.
Supports accreditation, CQI, and strategic planning efforts, including with survey and evaluation administration and data reporting.
Other evaluation needs as requested by Office of IDEAS leadership.
Job Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
- Experience with university faculty/staff administration
- Experience with assessment processes within higher education
- Experience with collecting, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting quantitative and qualitative data
- Knowledge of Administrative and business management principles, practices and procedures
- Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to administrative/business activities of the organization.
- Ability to learn USC SOMG fiscal policies, practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of report analyses techniques.
- Ability to plan, organize and direct assessment functions within the department.
- Ability to formulate and implement administrative policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates commitment to advancing the mission/vision/guiding principles of USCSOM Greenville/Prisma Health in setting priorities and conducting work.

The Office of Institutional Data, Evaluation, Accreditation, and Strategic Planning (Office of IDEAS) is responsible for collecting, managing, analyzing, and reporting data necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of the medical education curriculum and support the LCME accreditation of SOMG. Within this office, The Data and Evaluation Analyst, reporting directly to the Academic Program Assessment Manager, supports faculty, staff, and administration through collecting and managing institutional data, overseeing course and program evaluations, and providing thoughtful and informative data analysis and report development. This position collects and maintains data on student, course, and program performance, manages evaluations across all phases of the curriculum, and conducts data analysis and reporting using both quantitative and qualitative methods. Working across systems, offices and departments, and with school administration, this individual develops surveys, manages evaluations, maintains key datasets, generates numerous institutional reports, including, but not limited to, end-of-module and end-of-phase reports, and fulfills data requests for both internal and external stakeholders.
