Job Duties

Reporting to the Director of Institutional Research, the ERP Business Analyst performs the collection, maintenance, analysis, and reporting of official university data to both external and internal constituencies.

Work closely with the office of the registrar and with various Information Technology departments to support automation of data retrieval, including updating/maintaining business rules, input/output requirements and other procedural and technical matters. Research the impact of proposed technology applications, modifications and conversions. This includes serving as a subject matter expert throughout the development, training, testing, and implementation phases of Loyola’s digital transformation project: ERP currently Workday.

Extract data from institutional databases and ensure its accuracy and integrity for reporting purposes. This includes maintenance of institutional research data warehouses, including the coordination of freeze dates of ERP data in accordance with the overall University's schedule and ad hoc data requests.

Access internal and external databases to extract data for reports and spreadsheets. Interpret official institutional statistics for a wide variety of external agencies as well as internal constituencies. This includes standard routine reporting and responding to ad hoc requests.

Participate in cross-functional team projects.

Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Job Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years related experience required, with at least 2 years of experience in report writing, coding, data analysis, database management, and/or ERP data.

Experience with the Datatel Colleague and Workday ERP systems are preferred. Experience with statistical processing software (i.e. SAS, MiniTab, Tableau, Oracle, R, STATA, Python, etc.) is required. Experience with Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) is preferred. Excellent desktop computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to apply tact and good judgment in dealing with all levels of university staff, administrators and faculty. Strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and solve data analysis problems. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and follow through all phases to completion. Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in a fully remote office environment. Discretion in handling confidential information.
