JOB SUMMARY:
The Lead Systems Analyst – Institutional Research and Effectiveness (IRES) plays a critical role in advancing the data-driven culture at the Alamo Colleges District (ACD). This position leads efforts in designing, implementing, and maintaining research and data systems that support institutional planning, assessment, and decision-making.
Data Systems Leadership and Collaboration: Take charge of building and improving data systems and tools that support institutional research and planning. Work closely with project leads and teams across the district to provide user-friendly, data-driven solutions that address institutional research goals and handle requests from different departments.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Manage the creation and sharing of easy-to-understand reports and visualizations that help district leaders make informed decisions. Use tools like SAS for detailed data analysis, Tableau for interactive dashboards, and SQL for querying and managing datasets to ensure accurate and reliable insights.
Testing, Support, and Optimization: Lead efforts to test and validate data systems to align with institutional research goals. Provide training and support to staff on using data systems effectively. Resolve system issues and seek ways to improve processes to meet the district's diverse needs.
Innovation: Stay abreast of best practices in institutional research and data analytics, proposing and implementing innovative solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.
- Six years of experience providing technical support for research or marketing analysis programs.
- Experience providing technical support for higher education institutional research.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master's degree.
- Degree in statistics, math, computer science, information systems, business administration or a related field.
- Five years of experience using and supporting Base SAS and SAS Macros or SPSS.
- Experience with problem solving, analysis, and documentation of Banner functionality.
- Experience with assessing and documenting client requirements.
- Experience with Luminis, ODS, SQL, SAS Business Intelligence, and Banner products.
- Experience conducting organizational studies and end-user training.
