Institutional Research Analyst

Position Summary: The Institutional Research Analyst (IRA) provides support for the Office of Institutional Research, Data-enriched decision making and University-wide planning activities. The IRA is responsible for collecting, analyzing, trending, projecting, reporting and maintaining institutional data for strategic planning and assessment purposes and responds to frequent requests from every area of the university on a timely basis. The IRA must have the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects concurrently and with internal transparency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Testify to personal experience of salvation in Jesus Christ, affirm belief in the University's Statement of Faith, abide by and practice our Life Together Covenant, and both personally agree with and support the Foundational Documents of Taylor University.
  • Compliance Reporting - Serves a key role in filing the university's response to compliance requirements such as the Higher Education Opportunities Act (HEOA), the Integrated Post-secondary Education Data System submissions (IPEDS) and Higher Learning Commission accreditation institutional update.
  • University Fact Book - Responsible for the annual collection and assimilation of official data into a single indexed document. This document is the primary authoritative source used to respond to many of the inquiries received by the Office of Institutional Research and is made available to the larger university community.
  • Guidebook Surveys - Responsible for the timely completion fo all guidebook surveys received by the institution (e.g. U.S. News & World Report and the Common Data Set).
  • Benchmarking - Maintain benchmarked metrics and official benchmark lists.
  • Ad-hoc Requests - Be able to quickly evaluate requests for information and formulate clarifying questions to ensure provided data answers the inquirer's question appropriately.
  • Provide technical and functional support to the Registrar's Office.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, required. Master's degree or higher preferred or post-graduate certification in Institutional Research.
  • Two to four years experience in Institutional Research or similar role.
  • Experience within higher education.
  • Familiarity with compliance reporting and requirements
  • Familiarity with statistical software

Suggested Experience

  • Experience with relational databases
  • Experience with reporting tools and/or query languages such as SQL and R
