The Office of Institutional Research & Assessment at The University of Alabama is seeking an Institutional Research Analyst Sr. This position is responsible for providing analytical support to The University's administrative efforts by creating and maintaining context data and information, providing statistical analyses, responding to surveys and ad-hoc information requests, developing and conducting custom research methods for institutional studies, and enhancing the University's effectiveness through information and process integration. The position also provides leadership, guidance and supervision to other OIRA colleagues.
This position requires demonstrated analytical and organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a group setting, and a solid understanding of descriptive and inferential statistics. Must be proficient in using both Base SAS and SAS Enterprise Miner. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an institutional research office or other research environment. Requires a strong knowledge of integrated information systems, structured query language (SQL), the ability to extract data from large and disparate databases, effective reporting practices and principles, and the capability to translate technical issues to common English to facilitate communication and understanding.
Minimum requirements are a Bachelor's degree or higher in a research or analytical field of study with a minimum of 3 years related research or analytical experience; OR a master's degree or higher in a research or analytical field of study and some related research or analytical experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience, training, education and/or certification from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been obtained.
