Loyola Marymount University has an opening for a Director or Enrollment Research and Special Projects. Reporting to the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management, the Director of Enrollment Research and Special Projects will perform policy and data analysis, decision support, and predictive modeling related to marketing, financial aid, career services, and enrollment management. The successful candidate will: (1) conduct data analysis and program evaluation in support of required annual reporting for admissions, financial aid, career services and student retention; (2) evaluate the effectiveness of admissions and financial aid policies; (3) analyze the impact of marketing and recruitment initiatives; (4) analyze cohort retention to inform strategic intervention; (5) conduct analyses of student outcomes data for post-graduation employment reporting; and (6) analyze trend data including, for example, producing recruitment micro-funnels by region, inquiry source, major, etc. to ensure effective deployment of recruitment resources.
We seek candidates that typically possess a Master’s degree in a research oriented field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ph.D highly valued. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes. Candidates must have 6 years of demonstrated proficiency in statistical analysis, graphical report design and presentation, and understanding of student and financial data. Admissions/enrollment management experience preferred. Candidates should also have a broad understanding and current knowledge of enrollment trends and issues in higher education. The ability to collect, interpret, and communicate a broad range of institutional data to various audiences is a must. We also are seeking candidates that have the ability to identify and meet the enrollment research and data needs of senior-level administrators and policy makers, familiarity with national higher education data and tools, i.e. CIRP,NSSE, IPEDS desired, the ability to utilize reporting software (Argos), statistical software (SPSS,SAS) and understand how to extract data utilizing SQL/Oracle programming languages, and proficiency in survey administration technology such as Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey, as well as data visualization tools such as Tableau. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse body of faculty, administrators, and external sources is required. Additionally, the candidate must possess an ability to work with sensitive student and financial data in compliance with FERPA and all other privacy-related guidelines and practices.
