Texas Tech University invites applications for the position of managing director of Institutional Research. The managing director works collaboratively with academic and business units to enhance institutional data quality and the capture of elements required for regulatory reporting, managerial decision support and policy development. As the functional owner of the data warehouse, manages content of this essential resource with the goal of enabling data availability to support data informed decision making. The successful candidate will be detailed oriented and service focused.
Ensures that institutional data are collected accurately, analyzed rigorously, and shared with key stakeholders to assist in the data informed needs of the university.
Ensures that all regulatory data reporting requirements to state and federal agencies as well as publishing companies, are met for TTU and the regional campuses. Ensures accurate representation of the institution to potential students and their parents by participation in a variety of college guides.
Guides the preparation and distribution of institutional reports for both internal and external uses, by extraction, manipulation, and conversion of data to informational format specific to target audiences, based on required definitions. Responsible for managing projects and conducts research in support of academic, human resource, financial aid, research, enrollment or other areas of interest to institutional administrators. Oversees environmental assessment through generation of peer comparisons, bench marking studies, and analysis of national reports and trends, to assess relevance to the competitive position of the institution.
Serves as a member of key institutional committees, task forces, and councils. Also contributes to data management, data integrity, and data governance efforts, as assigned. Provides institutional information and analytic support to the University’s administrative decision makers in order to facilitate strategic planning, policy-making, enrollment management, and other processes requiring sound strategic analysis. Oversees the production of routine reports for strategic enrollment management.
Must have experience with IPEDS, Common Data Set, USNWR, and other external publishing houses and regulatory agencies. Must have five years managerial support of an Institutional Research Organization, higher education preferred.
