Job Duties

Reporting to the Director of Institutional Research and Strategic Initiatives, this position will support NCSSM’s institutional Data Analytics program through information analysis, report and visualization design, data quality control, research, and advisory assistance on strategic areas of high importance to the executive leadership of the school, divisions, campuses, and programs. The business intelligence & data analyst will work with cross-divisional teams including data owners, stewards, architects, and content area experts to build and maintain internal and public-facing data dashboards and datasets to increase and improve the use of data in decision-making processes and to generate insights to improve the effectiveness of the institution to support student success. The analyst will participate as key personnel with the Director and in collaboration with Enrollment Services and IT in developing and implementing the NCSSM Data Analytics program and data governance strategies across multiple programs (NCSSM-Durham, NCSSM-Morganton, NCSSM-Online and NCSSM-Open Enrollment) with faculty and staff in two locations (Durham, Morganton).  This position will be located at the new NCSSM-Morganton campus and will serve as a representative of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness on the Morganton campus with institution-wide duties and responsibilities.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and two to four years of related training or experience; or a master’s degree and one to two years of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.  

Preferred:  Graduate degree in a related field (STEM degree, etc.) with coursework in statistics and/or data visualization.
