Overview
Through the building and supporting of data warehouses you will provide support for a number of data and analytics initiatives aimed at improving Biola’s recruitment, retention, and success of our students. You will work with the marketing and admissions teams as they evaluate the effectiveness of advertising dollars to prospective students, with Student Success to reduce attrition and improve persistence, developing analytic models to support at-risk students, and with academic departments to track, predict, and understand how students change majors during their academic careers. This work is crucial to improving how Biola operates and the overall success of our students.
Job Summary
The Data Warehouse Architect is responsible for three core areas: 1) building and implementing various Data Warehouse solutions, 2) documentation and policy development related to Data Warehouse data models, and 3) develop communication strategies, which will include training. As a Data Warehouse Architect, you will work in close collaboration with IT staff, University Analytics, and IT leadership to ensure that we have functioning Data Warehouse.
Areas of Responsibility

Analyze all data warehouse architecture goals and identify skill requirements for the same.

Prepare designs for database systems and recommend improvements for performance.

Develop both physical and logical data models.

Prepare design for all metadata according to various ETL processes and perform tests on data.

Define metadata standards for the data warehouse

Perform troubleshoot on all ETL processes and resolve issues effectively.

Prepare appropriate status reports and submit it to management.

Develop and implement various work plans for projects.

Evaluate all proposal requests and assist to improve the structure of the data warehouse.

Maintain and develop various database scripts and tools to facilitate the automation process.

Provide support to all data warehouse initiatives.

Monitor processes and develop plans to capture and access all metadata.

Education & Experience:

Related education
-
Minimum of 3 years of working in the field of Data Warehouse
Technical
-
Strong database skills in cloud-based database system
-
Knowledge of modern data architectures, data structures, data optimization techniques, analytical tools, and data warehouse design
Professional

Self starter, who is inspired to perform with minimal supervision.

Proven interpersonal and leadership skills to lead the introduction and implementation of technology strategy and operations.

Willingness and desire to keep up with changing technologies.
