Job Duties

  • Support the mission of the University and School of Education to prepare researchers and reflective professionals who create, use and share knowledge in partnership with individuals and communities to serve Mississippi and beyond
  • Teach graduate courses, including through online instruction, in Higher Education and advise students in MEd, PhD, and EdD programs
  • Engage in research, writing, and other scholarly activities in the field of Higher Education
  • Provide service, outreach, and leadership in the field of Higher Education

 

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

 Earned doctorate in higher education or an earned doctorate in a related field

  • Graduate teaching and advising experience or evidence of potential
  • Evidence of potential for scholarship relevant to higher education issues
  • Experience and dedication to working with diverse populations
  • Demonstrated commitment to collegiality and collaboration

 

Institution Description

The Department of Higher Education at The University of Mississippi seeks applicants with expertise in quantitative methods or other related fields in Higher Education to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Additional expertise in assessment and/or program evaluation is also welcomed.

 

The Department of Higher Education offers residential and online Master's degrees that are focused on Student Affairs and designed for working professionals. The department also offers a residential Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree focused on researcher preparation as well as an online Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree that is focused on practitioner preparation. The Ed.D. degree is based on the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) framework and is directed toward equity, ethics, and social justice in professional practice.
