Job Duties

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for the Assessment Coordinator position. This will be a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position in the Academic Professional career ladder. The successful candidate will be hired at the rank — Associate Academic Professional, Academic Professional, Senior Academic Professional, or Principal Academic Professional — commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and with Institute and University System of Georgia policies. The Assessment Coordinator will be responsible for leading program assessment in ECE, leading publication of qualitative and quantitative educational research using school data, and supporting ECE faculty in writing the educational components of research proposals. The role will also be responsible for assisting faculty in collecting assessment results and supporting the school associate chairs in reporting results to the Georgia Tech Office of Academic Effectiveness (OAE) and external accreditation organizations, namely ABET and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Further, the position will assist faculty committees in making data-driven improvements to the curriculum. The Assessment Coordinator will be active in the education research community, including serving on committees that review education proposals for funding organizations.

Job Qualifications

A terminal degree of Ph.D, Ed.D, or other equivalent degree is required. in an appropriate field; or in rare and extraordinary circumstances, qualifications may be based on demonstrably successful related experience (exception has to be expressly approved by the President). Candidates at the end of such a terminal degree program can be considered but would be hired contingent on completion of the degree.
