Job Duties

The NYU Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Planning and Academic Assessment, in our Undergraduate College (UC). The Associate Director will develop and manage the reporting, analysis, assessment and data visualization functions, work with leadership on key strategic data-related projects and conduct research on areas of priority for the UC. The Associate Director will identify trends, generate reports examining areas such as student success. The Associate Director will develop complex queries in UDW+, conduct in-depth statistical analyses and construct new / maintain existing Tableau dashboards. They will design, administer and analyze student experience and learning assessment surveys and will conduct in-depth statistical analyses of survey results. The Associate Director will also manage the Course Faculty Evaluation process for undergraduate courses, and oversee processes for the Stern Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR), a UC Dean’s Office academic initiative. The Associate Director will interact and present results of analyses to leadership and faculty. They will also represent Stern UC on the University Student Data Operating Committee.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree (Master's Degree Higher Education, Statistics, Mathematics or relevant field preferred) and 5+ years relevant experience in higher education administration or comparable administrative experience, including experience with data collection, retrieval, statistical analysis, and reporting or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent analytical, relationship building, written/verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously is required. Substantial experience with standard office software packages (e.g. MS Office), ad hoc reporting tools (e.g. UDW+/OBIEE or similar), and statistical packages (e.g. R, SPSS, MiniTab) is also essential.
