JOB CONCEPTS:

Under the general supervision of the Vice Chancellor for Institutional Effectiveness & Strategic Initiatives, the Senior Manager, Institutional Data Analytics and Reporting performs the College’s data analytics and reporting functions in addition to assisting with planning, assessment, and related institutional effectiveness activities, projects, and initiatives.  The work of this position is highly collaborative and integrated with academic and operational departments across the College. The individual will work closely with the Office of Information Technology and with data users from across the campus to devise and modify procedures to solve complex problems and provide the campus with the information it needs for outcomes assessment, strategic planning and accreditation.  

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

Position requires intermediate to advanced competence in SQL query writing and experience working with relational databases. Also requires knowledge of and proficiency with: research theory and methodology; advanced applied statistics; report writing; survey design; personal and client server computer systems; facilitation techniques; and familiarity with State and Federal accountability reporting requirements.

Examples of job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Prepares end-of-semester reports that include Enrollment, Completer, and Retention data.
• Provides data analytics for preparation of Enrollment Management plans.
• Provides data analytics for preparation of BRCC’s Strategic Plans.
• Provides data analytics and reporting support for SACS-COC and other programmatic reaffirmation and accreditation activities.
• Ensures that institutional effectiveness activities are appropriately supported with accurate data analytics.
• Provides institutional research and data support and analytics to college-wide assessments across academic and non-academic/administrative divisions’ college- wide. This includes providing institutional research and data support and requisite analytics to academic program review and assessment efforts led by faculty senate, programs coordinators and chairs, deans, and the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs. 
• Supports institutional strategic planning by providing data and analytical support to the strategic planning process including goal setting and formulation of data driven objectives; strategies; performance indicators, standards and outcomes; and related strategic initiatives. 
• Compiles, completes, and ensures compliance with reporting requirements with internal LCTCS, state, federal, and other external agencies.
• Researches, identifies, communicates, and develops assessment tools and methodologies.
• Establishes, maintains, and engages in campus-wide collaborations and efforts to ensure a culture of evidence.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor (Vice Chancellor of IE/SA).

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education:     

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field

Minimum Experience: 

• Five (5) years professional experience in data analysis, data science, or data modeling or similar relevant professional experience

Substitution(s):

• Bachelor’s degree in any field is accepted with an additional three (3) years of the required experience.
• Master’s in one of the required fields will substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.

Preferred Education:  

• Master’s degree in Data Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field

Preferred Experience:  

• 8+ years professional experience in data analysis, data science, or data modeling or similar relevant professional experience
