Job Duties
The successful candidate for this position will be able to design, implement, and maintain the university data infrastructure, including servers, databases, data warehouses, reporting solutions, and data integration.
Responsibilities Include:
- Design, implement, and maintain the university data infrastructure, including the data warehouse.
- Monitor performance and optimize university databases, including management of disk space, transaction logs, database compatibility, and server patches.
- Implement and maintain security of databases and database servers.
- Evaluate and establish backup and recovery requirements for each database.
- Support development of data interfaces and reporting solutions.
- Support and promote the effective use of analytics and data as strategic assets.
- Work as a consulting resource to identify requirements and technology solutions to support data management and reporting.
- Create and maintain system and end-user documentation.
- Act as a mentor and resource for other data and programmer analysts.
- Perform other duties as directed related to those listed above.

Knowledge and Skills Needed:
- Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field preferred).
- Experience with database administration using SQL Server and other database management tools.
- Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.
- Ability to write SQL queries, implement solutions using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and develop solutions using reporting tools such as Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services.
- Experience with cloud data management solutions, such as Snowflake or Azure SQL Database, is preferred.
- Experience in and understanding of the academic environment is helpful.
- Time management skills necessary to keep on-task with multiple project assignments.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
