IRP Data Analyst

Job Duties

Examine and validate data for the Institutional Research & Planning (IRP) team to make informed business decisions through data management tools, application administration tools, and back-end databases. Actively participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures required to manage data and ensure the consistency, accuracy, and completeness of data under their oversight.
  • Develop, review, debug, and revise SQL scripts to extract data from multiple database systems.
  • Actively identify and resolve data quality, validity, and accuracy issues in collaboration with IRP leadership and data service administrators.
  • Perform data analysis including data mining, descriptive statistics, data visualization, and data interpretation.
  • Respond to data requests through the extraction, manipulation, analysis, and presentation of data.
  • Prepare data deliverables including tables, infographics, dashboards, reports, and other data visualizations following institute and office brand guidelines.
  • Perform data quality audits on data deliverables to ensure compliance with data security and reporting requirements. Uphold scheduled data delivery standards.
  • Collaborate on production of IRP work products including but not limited to written reports, presentations, and research projects.
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and automation of data analysis processes and workflows.
  • Troubleshoot moderately complex issues and problems independently and collaborate on more complex issues and problems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.

Other Required Qualifications
Must have demonstrated ability to work with various BI and analytical tools. Must be able to perform work independently with general supervision.

Required Experience
Two to three years of experience working with relational databases, business intelligence (BI) software, and conducting data analyses.
