Job Duties

The research analyst collects, analyzes, and reports on aggregate data about Laurel Ridge, including information about students, programs, courses, graduates, employers, four-year transfers, and hiring. This requires an understanding of programming and database concepts and the ability to be a power user of tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, SAS, Tableau, and Adobe Acrobat. 

Attention to detail and accuracy are important, along with managing a workload of projects and requests. Experience with administering and analyzing surveys is a plus, as is previous federal or state reporting such as IPEDS. This is an exciting and interesting job for someone who loves data and enjoys answering a wide range of questions about the college.

Position is eligible for 1 day of telework weekly. This schedule is 40 hours a week, available in four 10-hour days weekly or five 8-hour days weekly.

Job Qualifications

  • Advanced experience with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with databases
  • Experience with programming languages
  • Experience with desktop publishing
  • Proven academic excellence and subject matter knowledge, which may be evidenced by training, experience, associates degree, and/or certification.
  • Any candidates selected to move forward to an interview will be asked at that time to provide a sample Excel spreadsheet and a sample PowerPoint presentation that demonstrate their skill level.

Laurel Ridge Community College is a comprehensive, nonresidential, two-year public institution of higher education with four locations – the Fauquier and Middletown campuses, the Luray-Page County Center and the Vint Hill Site – as well as outreach sites throughout the college’s service region.
