Job Duties

■ Manage and optimize processes for data collection, validation, mass uploading, modeling, visualization and communication deliverables
■ Work closely with University technical consultants and department leadership to support data checking, database queries, and data collection strategies
■ Ensure accuracy of institutional data across multiple units by co-chairing and supporting university committees and initiatives
■ Anticipate future data needs of the Vice President of OPAR and Higher Education internal and external agencies for university initiatives and requirements
■ Serve as thought partner and collaborator with the Executive Director of Institutional Research and Data Management
■ Lead cross-functional projects using data management knowledge, data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities
■ Serve as a point of contact for questions regarding data in compliance with the requirements of official University reporting as well as stakeholder data providers and funding organizations
■ Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, and dashboards that support university KPIs
■ Assist in designing and building technical processes or data solutions
■ Modify IR database infrastructure and data files to accelerate the processes of data analysis and reporting
■ Develop standards of operation for handling and archiving data, implementing data quality controls and standards to ensure integrity and university expectations
■ Assess system performance and make recommendations for hardware, software, and data storage improvements; oversee the integration of these recommendations for OPAR members
■ Other data related duties as assigned (e.g., deep dive into Higher Education data statistics, investigate university data changes, etc.)
■ Track and report of students who complete total credit hours within 4 years of enrollment
■ Track and report of students registering for at least 15 credit hours each term
■ Track and report of students registered as of the first 30 days in the registration period for a subsequent academic term (often referred to as pre-registration). Continue to monitor and report on numbers weekly
■ Administer student satisfaction surveys
■ Create and disseminate data reports for each degree program
■ Collaborate with the Center of Academic and Student Success to develop Academic Maps for transfer students

Job Qualifications

■ Working knowledge of SQL to query multiple tables and subqueries; additional skills in SPSS is a plus
■ Proficiency in creating and modifying databases, datasets, and dashboards
■ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Access and Excel
■ Some knowledge of or genuine interest in Higher Education statistics
■ Must have experience handling confidential and sensitive information
■ Must be prudent in handling confidential and sensitive information
■ Must work with initiative when working independently and with a team
■ Must have excellent customer, collaboration, and active listening skills
■ Ability to organize, prioritize, and drive tasks to successful completion with minimal assistance
■ Must exhibit initiative and aspirations to serve in leadership capacities
