Penn State Abington is accepting applications for a part-time Institutional Researcher, reporting to the Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Faculty Development. This employee will work 20 hours per week. This role interacts with and supports academic and administrative units college-wide, including academic programs, Strategic Planning, and the Chancellor's office. Institutional research activities rely on the researcher's experience to cull and analyze data collected from tools including LionPath, (a version of Oracle`s PeopleSoft Campus Solutions), iTwo (a Penn State-specific web-based and metadata-driven data access, analysis, and distribution environment), and other Penn State and external information resources. Reports and recommendations will be used to make data-informed decisions that support the college's strategic plan. This researcher is a key member of our campus Data Team and assists in program reviews, assessment, and analysis of various campus initiatives. Typically requires a Master's degree plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional required competencies: in-depth knowledge of effective quantitative research methods, advanced statistical analysis techniques, and superior database management skills; work completed independently on complex and standard assignments; ability to make data-based recommendations on projects and initiatives; self-management; and excellent written and verbal communications skills.
