Job Duties
Essential Functions
• Develops and leads institutional planning processes that result in the creation of strategic and operational plans for the college.
• Coordinates with other college planning functions such as capital funding requests and facilities master plan development to ensure integrated planning.
• Reviews and supports planning processes and systems and recommends changes to enhance effectiveness.
• Designs and conducts research and analyzes and interprets quantitative and qualitative data to inform institutional planning and decision-making.
• Consults with faculty, staff, and external partners on research questions and program/project design; provides supporting data to demonstrate need and document outcomes.
• Coordinates documentation and reporting of institutional outcomes and indicators as defined in the mission, college core themes, strategic plan, and other institutional initiatives.
• Designs, reviews, and selects survey instruments to provide program and institutional data; oversees large-scale survey implementation.
• Creates reports and presentations for a variety of audiences, including executives and trustees, staff and students, and the public.
• Serves as chair of the college’s Institutional Review Board, supports human subjects’ ethics training, and maintains external reporting and management around IRB functions.
• Ensures compliance with mandatory institutional data reporting to state and federal agencies, including IPEDS.
• Oversees development of operational objectives and implementation plans and assists departments and programs in identifying assessment tools and practices.
• Helps support student learning outcomes assessment at the course, program, and college levels done by instructional and non-instructional programs and departments.
• Oversees and supports grant proposal development to ensure coherence with college strategic priorities and integration with operational and budget plans.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree plus two to three years of effective experience is required.
• Must have a strong data management and research background, be familiar with statistical software packages, survey administration, and relational databases, and be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.
• Five years of progressive experience working in a position that uses local, state, or national data as part of the daily functions of work.
• Experiences with quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods data.
• Ability to develop and deploy a variety of survey instruments and prepare summary reports of the findings.
• Experiences with reading and creating dashboards and working within a large organizational system.
• Ability to generate, create, and explain institutional reports on behalf of the college.
• Supervisorial experience.

The Executive Director leads the strategic planning and accreditation efforts, serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet, and is the liaison to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
