This position is eligible for remote work on a hybrid basis. Remote work is not a right, but a working arrangement that can be modified or revoked by Miami University at any time for any reason.
Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and providing analysis for recruitment, career, and student data projects in EMSS. This includes oversight of the activities and priorities of all third-party vendors responsible for assisting with financial aid leveraging and recruitment predictive modeling.
Initiate, lead, define, develop, and produce original research addressing enrollment management and student success questions and issues including identification and design of appropriate quantitative measures and instruments; survey design, deployment, and analysis; benchmarking; and statistical modeling
Integrate concepts and data from various sources such as institutional databases, College Board, ACT, the National Student Clearinghouse, IPEDS (Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System) NACE, and other national data banks to create analyses that serve the university’s enrollment management and student success needs.
Direct, supervise, train, and mentor the Enrollment Management and Student Success Research and Analysis staff and serve as a point of contact for internal and external requests for Enrollment Management and Student Success data/statistics
Act as the data integrity officer for the division.
Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all data used in delivering recruitment, procedural and ad-hoc emails, text messages, and mailings to prospective students, applicants, and current students.
Lead the coordination of system audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy across all offices in EMSS.
Chief data officer for all enrollment data developed and maintained in EMSS.
Develop methods to ensure the proper collection of data, organization, retrieval, and analysis of data to ensure effective decision-making, and to evaluate, revise, and refine decisions based on data outcomes.
AVP/director assists with developing, communicating, executing, and sustaining division-wide priorities and various high-priority initiatives and projects. The position plays an interdivisional and external role in translating strategies and priorities into actionable, sustainable, and impactful outcomes. Acts as a trusted resource and strategic thought partner across the division in coordination with the VP to increase broad cohesion related to planning, implementing, and executing strategic priorities.
Job Qualifications
Director:
Master's degree
Minimum of four years of relevant work experience in analytics or higher education and/or a closely related field or organization
Demonstrated experience in quantitative research methodology and data analysis, including logistic regression
Assistant Vice President:
Master’s Degree
Minimum of six years of relevant work experience in analytics or higher education and/or a closely related field or organization
Demonstrated experience in quantitative research methodology and data analysis, including logistic regression
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree in statistics, math, economics, research-intensive social science field, or related field
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems
Strong background in the applied use of various statistical tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS, SQL, SQR, Access, Excel)
Experience working with complex files/table
Training/experience with relational databases, experience using data for strategic planning purposes
Ability to work quickly, manage multiple projects, and work independently with a commitment to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to prepare and present reports based on analysis and to convey technical conclusions to a non-technical audience.
Demonstrated time-management and priority-setting skills.
