Job Duties
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accreditation and Compliance:
- Provide direction and leadership in accreditation compliance, incorporating institutional goals and objectives.
- Serve as the College’s Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) for the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and serve as the College’s subject matter expert with respect to accreditation standards.
- Establish yearly goals and objectives, including the development of a timeline for completion of all tasks, institutional self-studies and reports, and coordination of site team visits for accreditation, as required.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative leadership to ensure MCAD remains in compliance in relation to planning, assessment, and evaluation processes of the College.
- Develop and oversee implementation of state licensing plan, regulatory and Minnesota state licensure documents.
- Manage state authorization processes for all necessary states, as required.
- Work with Registrar, Chief Financial Officer and other appropriate staff in writing accurate and timely reports that respond to federally-mandated, consortia, marketing, and requests for institutional data from external agencies, education institutions, associations and societies.
- Develop peer-comparison reports based on external data using IPEDS and other data, as requested.
- Stay abreast of changes in accreditation policies and procedures; maintain knowledge of current trends, events, and emerging issues.
- Serve as a steward of data for the institution, ensuring privacy, security, and ethical issues while continuously improving institutional data collection and documentation procedures.
Assessment:
- Provide leadership and expertise in maintaining a culture of assessment across the College.
- Develop and oversee the College assessment plans, including identifying goals and objectives, appropriate measures and metrics, and analyzing and reporting findings.
- Provide assessment resources and training to faculty and staff to help them understand, implement, communicate and use evidence of student learning to improve MCAD programs and services.
- Communicate the College’s assessment plans, policies and procedures to internal and external audiences.
- Develop and facilitate professional development (workshops, trainings, briefing materials, tutorials) in areas related to curricular and co-curricular assessment.
- Utilize and provide guidance, consultation and support for the College’s course evaluation software.
- Respond to regular and ad hoc requests for research from the President, VPAA, and other members of the Executive Leadership Committee in collating reports for the purposes of promoting evidence-based decision-making for policy development and strategic planning.
- Oversee the development and administration of internal and external surveys and the dissemination of the results, including supporting chairs and the administrative leaders in interpreting the findings for continuous improvement.
Other Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on new program development with the curriculum committee.
- Chair or participate in related college committees, as assigned.
- Submit annual area reports and analysis to the VPAA.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Represent MCAD’s vision, purpose, and values in day to day work and interactions with MCAD students, staff, faculty, and campus guests, as well as the greater community.
Job Qualifications
- Advanced degree in education, social or behavioral sciences, public policy, or equivalent disciplines from an accredited college or institution, required.
- Three years of experience planning, developing and reporting on assessment or evaluation in a higher education context preferred.
- Experience with the Higher Learning Commission, or another regional accreditor in higher education preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficiency in research or evaluation design, methodology, and reporting using both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Ability to provide effective facilitation and training, and to work effectively and professionally across disciplines, departments, and with diverse groups.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, prioritize and complete projects within a timely manner.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills: written and verbal.
- Demonstrated commitment to justice, equity, inclusion & diversity.
