Associate Director of Assessment

Job Duties

The Associate Director of Assessment will work with the Director on projects of the Office of Assessment, all of which have an overriding goal of the improvement of student learning at Kansas State University. Administer surveys, prepare reports, disseminate results, and collaboratively provide professional development on assessment technologies. Assist in the supervision of student and graduate employees. Manage the oversight of the website. Works in partnership to enhance institutional effectiveness activities as approved by the Director of Assessment.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree
  • Five or more years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate/Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge and skills of research methods, statistical procedures, data analysis and reporting, and statistical and reporting software (e.g., SPSS, EXCEL, R, Rasch Item Analysis, PowerBI).
  • Ability to apply yourself to multiple tasks simultaneously within a team-oriented approach.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
  • The ability to organize and manage large scale on-going survey projects.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Conceptual abilities and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, both the theory and practical application of assessment of student learning in a college or university setting.
  • Familiarity with accreditation criteria and standards.
  • Experience with creating and delivering workshops.
  • A strong background in survey instrument design and research
