Job Duties
- Managing the hiring and professional development of highly skilled staff who work remotely.
- Mapping of business rules and functions onto data needs and developing requirements and specifications to generate timely actionable information from data available on various internal and external platforms, particularly linking various systems together to provide actionable insight based on academic data.
- Supporting institutional initiatives through the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and analyses.
- Effectively communicating reports and data trends with users and decision-makers
- Performing highly complex analysis of information used to make decisions on the implementation of strategic programs and changes.
- Supporting the collection and verification of data and data sources in support of key internal and external academic analysis and reporting requirements.
- Managing, troubleshooting, and designing data reporting environments, including master data sources, and data security.
- Assuring data quality in terms of accuracy and timeliness of data products.
- Coordinating with the IR Infrastructure team to ensure the office is able to keep up with the data needs of the team.
- Managing confidential data and information according to guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Applied Statistics, Social Science, or other research-oriented specialization and a strong technical background.
- Five years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or related fields.
- Five years of experience in SQL or another programming language.
- Five years of experience in data visualization software such as Power BI, Tableau, or another similar tool.
- Three years in a leadership or supervisory role within an institutional research office.
- Experience in reporting, data analysis, and visualization to draw business-relevant conclusions.
- Demonstrated leadership of highly skilled staff.
- Experience in recommending actions through analysis and studying proposed changes in policy and processes.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills.
- Clear communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Experience leading teams for data and reporting services, research, assessment, and/or strategic planning.
- Experience in large-scale data analytics and software integration projects.
- Ability to collaborate and think strategically about data infrastructure needs.
