University of Houston- Executive Director, I.E.
The University of Houston is the leading public research university in Houston and one of the largest universities in Texas. In 2021, UH enrolled more than 47,000 students in 276 undergraduate and graduate academic programs – both on campus and online. UH awards more than 11,000 degrees annually and has more than 326,000 alumni. Expanding its community reach, UH also serves students through instructional sites in Sugar Land and Katy. In 2020, the University launched a College of Medicine to meet the health care needs of underserved populations in the region and state.
The student body at UH is one of the most diverse in the nation among research universities for its ethnic diversity, with no majority race on campus, and is also very international in character, with students from more 125 nations. With more than 500 student organizations and 17 intercollegiate sports teams, campus life at UH is vibrant and engaging. Within nine residential communities, UH houses approximately 8,400 students.
The University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, master's, professional and doctoral degrees. The University's distinguished faculty members include Tony Award winners as well as 20 members of the National Academies of Science and Engineering and 19 members of the National Academy of Inventors. As a member of the Association of Research Libraries, UH is distinguished by the breadth and quality of its collections and services.
The Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Assessment & Accreditation is a leadership position in the office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness reporting directly to the Associate Provost. The Executive Director serves as the university's principal officer with respect to managing the institutional effectiveness, assessment and accreditation processes and other activities through which student learning outcomes are evaluated. Manages the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) reaccreditation process for the university.
- Manages the university's SACSCOC accreditation process.
- Maintains current knowledge of laws, policies, and requirements related to institutional assessment and accreditation, particularly SACS accreditation and substantive change standards.
- Manages the completion of all SACSCOC -related reports including substantive change, Fifth-year Interim reports and decennial reports.
- Maintains archive of all SACSCOC related documents and correspondence.
- Oversees the general education assessment through which learning outcomes for students completing their baccalaureate degrees are evaluated on an annual basis.
- Manages the annual implementation of the core curriculum assessment plan in accordance with state law and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board policy.
- Serves as the chair of the campus Assessment committee building a culture of assessment on the campus.
- Develops, manages, analyzes and reports University wide assessment surveys.
- Manages the institutional effectiveness planning process through which student learning outcomes are measured on an annual basis for each degree program at the university. Serves as a resource on best practices and research findings in outcomes assessment and measurement. Provides guidance to faculty and staff in the development and implementation of assessment strategies and techniques and the use of assessment results for improvement. Collaborates with Colleges and Departments providing support for discipline specific accreditation. Represents the university at conferences, accreditation visits, state committees, etc., in matters related to assessment. Serves as a liaison to the Undergraduate Committee of the Faculty Senate, through which changes to the core curriculum must be approved. Performs other duties as required.

Education: Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
