  1. Assessment

The Association for Institutional Research (AIR), one of the first organizations to promote the measurement of student learning and the use of student assessment research to increase the effectiveness of higher education, offers its members a wide variety of assessment-related programs and resources.

Measuring Quality in Higher Education: An Inventory of Instruments, Tools and Resources - Measuring Quality is a new resource available from the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) web site in partnership with the American Council on Education (ACE) Center for Policy Analysis, and the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA). The resource center provides information on assessment instruments and assessment resources in a format that allows keyword and topical searches.

Assessment Activities: Annual Forum - Many sessions of the Forum are on topics related to institutional effectiveness and student learning outcomes, reflecting the increasing involvement of AIR members in applied research on student learning and outcomes as part of their organizational responsibilities.

Assessment in the Disciplines - The Assessment in the Disciplines book series is designed to provide assistance to both faculty who have taken on responsibility for assessing their academic programs, as well as institutional researchers who are often asked to support student learning assessment activities across their campuses.

IR Resources - Additional assessment-related links, articles and information.

Assessment Institute - The Association for Institutional Research Assessment Institute for Institutional Research Practitioners is focused exclusively on assessment in higher education. The Institute is designed to provide opportunities for participants to acquire knowledge about the assessment field and to expand their knowledge and skills regarding the assessment needs within their respective institutions.
