Job dutiesThe Director, Institutional Research and Chief Data Officer is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting internal and external data to support institution-wide, evidence based decision-making. The incumbent works collaboratively with the accreditation and assessment point of contacts and other key officials within the Division of Academic Affairs and across the university so institutional data is available to support all components of the university's institutional effectiveness framework. Activities include, but are not limited to, technical data assistance for accreditation, assessment, survey development and analysis, academic program and administrative support unit reviews, strategic planning and evaluation of institutional effectiveness.
QualificationsTerminal degree preferred in Educational Research, Mathematic, Statistics, Higher Education, or Social Science. Master's Degree considered if supplemented by exceptional research experience from an accredited institution with substantial experience in research methods and statistical analysis in economic, social science or education data. A minimum of 3 years of experience in higher education policy research, and/or analysis, and in managing the analysis of data to support institutional, system or state policy analysis and planning, and supervision of personnel. ; 5 years of progressive experience in an Office of Institutional Research. Proficiency in the use of statistical software (e.g. SPSS) and other software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.). Excellent project management, communication, problem solving, quantitative and organizational skills. Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with management, students, staff, and general public. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Maintain a high degree of discretion when dealing with confidential information. Demonstrated experience in managing multiple concurrent projects, establishing and meeting deadlines, and setting priorities, and commitment to confidentiality, maintaining FEPRA and the ethical uses of data.
