Job dutiesThe Director of Institutional Research, full time and exempt from civil service and representation, reports to the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and provides leadership and management to the Institutional Research (IR) Office, supporting the College’s mission and strategic plan. The Director of IR is a member of the Institutional Advancement team and is responsible for organizing and managing the daily activities of the IR Office including: providing leadership in developing and supporting college-wide research and assessment activities, providing support to a broad range of administrative planning and decision-making efforts, and maintaining and enhancing the College’s reporting and analytical capabilities. The incumbent is responsible for compliance with state, federal, accrediting body, and other accountability mandates. The incumbent will work closely with the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement on a number of accreditation, strategic planning, and strategic initiatives activities, and will provide significant support for the program review and assessment process.
QualificationsA Master’s degree including course work in statistics, data analytics and information technology or similar computer related coursework. At least three years of work experience directly involved in research activities. Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, particularly in the creation and interpretation of statistical data. Experience with SPSS, MS Office Suite, including Access and Excel pivot tables, SharePoint, SQL, Burning Glass, EMSI, Tableau, Qualtrics, predictive modeling, and other database management software. Ability to translate complex data to lay audience. Ability to establish priority timelines and consistently meet deadlines. Experience using visual analytic software.
Knowledge of and experience with the Washington State Board of Community and Technical College database and Student Management System is a plus, but not required. Proficiency in English, with excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to follow oral and written instructions; must be organized and detail-oriented. Demonstrated attention to detail, and sound working knowledge of personal computer hardware/software and the internet. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community partners. Successful experience effectively working with persons from diverse backgrounds such as racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic, and diverse physical and learning abilities, and a commitment to a culturally diverse environment.
Salary range$60,000 - $80,000
Salary benefits$76,500.00 Annually, with full benefits.
