Job Duties

The position reports to the Director of Institutional Research and is under the larger office of Academic Planning and Assessment. 
Select Duties:
  • Analyze, evaluate, interpret, and summarize a wide variety of institutional data, providing insights into topics in a timely, thorough and accurate manner.
  • Work collaboratively with personnel in Business Intelligence and in the office to maintain, verify and improve the unversity data warehouse and to enhance data information systems.
  • produce mandatory reports and sumissions to external stakeholdes (e.g. IPEDS, US News)
  • Develop, maintain, and update dashboards in response to the information needs of the campus using Power BI or Tableau.
  • Collect, organize, and present data for use in program reviews and accreditation projects such as Middle States.

Job Qualifications

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 

Preferred qualifications:

Excellent communicatoin skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaniasly. Able to work proactively, independently, and in a team environment. Attention to detail is essential. 

Fluent in modern analytics and data visualization is desired.

Experience with spreadsheets and graphics.

Demonstrated knowledge of SAS or similar software (R, SPSS, Python) to perform data manipulation and analytics

The office of Academic Planning and Assessment is located in the heart of DC, just blocks from the White House. The university has a Mount Vernon Campus and a campus in Loudoun County, Virginia.
