Institution descriptionThe purpose of Institutional Research & Effectiveness (IR) is to serve the University of South Florida Sarasota- Manatee's administration, faculty, and staff by initiating and building a comprehensive institutional research and effectiveness valuation program that supports campus decision-making, strategic planning and assessment of institutional effectiveness, and regional and specialized accreditation. IR provides wide-ranging analysis of internal and external information and current research to assist campus decision-makers grow the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee to meet changing educational needs.
Job dutiesThe Assessment and Research Analyst reports to the Director of Institutional Research. The Analyst supports campus decision-making, strategic planning, unit and program assessment, program review, and regional and professional accreditation activities, including SACSCOC, CAEP, and ABET. Supports the university-wide assessment system. Provides administrative and research support to campus assessment activities through Institutional Research & Effectiveness. The position conducts statistical research analyses by developing assessment protocols, compiling data, managing databases, analyzing data using specialized statistical computer programs, and presenting results in numerical and graphic formats on the web and on paper. Supports the cyclical assessment of effectiveness of programs/units with the following: (1) faculty representing academic degree programs, including general education, and (2) vice chancellors/deans/directors of administrative units.
QualificationsMINIMUM: This position requires a bachelor's degree and one year experience in qualitative and quantitative methods. (Master's degree may substitute for experience.) Strong knowledge and experience with statistical packages for analyzing data (SPSS, SAS, and/or related).

PREFERRED: Three or more years' experience in qualitative and quantitative methods. Master's degree and experience in higher education with accountability and assessment reporting. Experience with professional accreditation, especially CAEP, ABET, and AACSB.
Salary range$40,000 - $60,000
