The University Office of Evaluation and Educational Effectiveness (UOEEE) promotes
educational effectiveness by providing expert programs, resources, and services in social
science research and evaluation; outcomes assessment; and testing and measurement for the
university and its constituents.
Job duties-Participates as a member of a research team that conducts institutional research, assessment, course evaluation, and program evaluation projects.
-Coordinates course evaluation data collection across client units.
-Uses Data Warehouse to access student information.
-Merges data from multiple files/sources.
-Selects, develops, and/or recommends appropriate research design methodologies, data analyses, and statistical procedures.
-Analyzes quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate protocols, methods, and computer software.
-Prepares reports summarizing research results.
-Communicates effectively orally and in writing.
-Uses various software (e.g. SPSS, SQL Server, Excel, Access, and Word) and coding syntax (e.g. SPSS, SQL, VBA, R, Python) to perform data processing, computation, statistical analysis, report preparation, etc.
-Maintains detailed records of research activities, analyses, and outcomes.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field AND three years of experience in research, information
analysis or program evaluation; OR, Master's degree in a related field AND one year of
experience in research, information analysis or program evaluation; OR, Any equivalent
combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and
abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications:
Evidence of a Master's degree in related field (e.g. social science, education) with
research and statistical emphasis.
Experience with multiple phases of the social science research process (e.g., survey
design, quantitative and qualitative data collection, data entry and coding, data
processing, and analysis such as ANOVA, regression, etc.).
Experience implementing quality control procedures for large data files.
Experience with spreadsheets (e.g. Excel); databases (e.g., Access, ASU Data
Warehouse); and data analysis software (e.g., SPSS,).
Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in a collaborative work setting.
Experience working in a higher education environment.
Experience with program evaluation.
Experience using online course evaluation and/or assessment management systems.
Experience with assessing student learning.
Experience working successfully in collaborative research teams.
Salary rangeDependent on qualifications and experience
Salary benefits$43,200 – $50,000 per year; DOE
