Assistant Professor of Teaching

Job Duties
While excellence in teaching is the central focus of this position, candidates are also expected to maintain a productive program of research and creative scholarship that bridges theory and practice, thereby enriching their teaching. We are particularly interested in candidates whose scholarly and creative work complements their pedagogical commitments and contributes to broader important and impactful conversations in the field.
The position carries a five course teaching load per year, including internship placement and supervision, along with an advising portfolio. The successful candidate will collaborate actively in curriculum design, program planning, and departmental initiatives. We welcome applicants who are committed to graduate student success. This position is for an initial 1-year appointment with the possibility of renewal.
Job Qualifications
-Earned doctorate in one of the fields represented in the Department of Human Development (cognitive science in education; developmental psychology; measurement, evaluation and statistics; learning analytics) or a related field of inquiry.
-Experience teaching and advising post-secondary students (graduate level preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
-Demonstrated strength in program development
-Demonstrated strength in empirical methods and theory in the psychological and social sciences.
-Experience with online teaching
