Institution descriptionWestmoreland County Community College was founded in 1970 and is located in Youngwood, PA a short distance from the New Stanton Interchange off the Pennsylvania Turnpike of Route 119. The 80-acre campus comprises four buildings: Founders Hall, Commissioners Hall, Science Hall and the Business and Industry Center. Founders Hall also contains the college bookstore, library, student activities center, gymnasium and more. Approximately 5,517 full and part-time students attend the college. There are 65 associate degree, 20 diploma, and 78 certificate programs with options that prepare students for careers or transfer to baccalaureate degree programs at four-year institutions.
Job dutiesThe Institutional Research Analyst is responsible for providing technical leadership in fulfilling the data needs of the college. This individual’s tasks would include, but would not be limited to, analyzing the data needs of the college department, designing processes to solve the needs, developing those processes to deliver a solution to the customer, and maintaining those processes for the future success of that customer.
QualificationsThe position requires an Associate degree in computer/information science or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred. three to five years of related experience work experience; thorough knowledge of two high-level programming languages, preferably some form of Basic language and C++ or one of its derivatives; Thorough knowledge of portals and data warehouses; Working knowledge of a fourth-generation language; Experience with query language and data dictionaries desired; Skill in operation of mini-computer equipment, related office equipment, and Windows-based personal computer software desired; Strong leadership, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills; Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer-focused skills; Proven ability to work independently, as well as possess excellent decision-making and judgment skills; Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population, while exercising discretion and good judgment; PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA Criminal Record Check Clearance and FBI Federal Criminal History Record Clearance at employee’s expense; basic employment verification, national criminal database search, and drug screen at college’s expense; Ability to perform the essential responsibilities/functions of this position. To qualify for this position, the applicant's previous work performance must have met or exceeded appropriate work standards.
Salary rangeDependent on qualifications and experience
Salary benefitsSalary is $41,240-$46,395
