Job Duties
Activities included in the scope of this position include:
- Developing, documenting, communicating, and educating the BU community on data governance processes, guidelines, and established standards.
- Oversee the Data Governance Working Group, coordinating project timelines and outcomes, program communications, and membership updates.
- Assist units in implementing data governance projects and developing and accessing tools and data systems.
- Administer the university's central repository of data sources, standard definitions, and other metadata.
- Review and recommend potential data governance related tools and systems.
- Provide on-going assessment of program outcomes and progress, making recommendations for process and resource improvements.
Job Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including:
- Ability to interpret and analyze technical documentation and information.
- Experience in developing web-based, written, and presentation resources for a broad audience of senior leaders, academic and administrative partners, and resource users.
- Able to communicate technical ideas and concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with data resources including:
- Knowledge of relational database concepts and tools.
- Familiarity with data warehouse concepts.
- IT Service Management concepts and frameworks.
- Experience with data governance and reporting tools including Informatica Axon and EDC, Microstrategy, Power BI, Tableau, and BeX.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the field of institutional research, admissions, financial aid, and other higher education areas preferred but not required.
