Board Corner
With our recent AIR elections just passed and the results certified by the Nominations and Elections Committee (NEC), I want to congratulate our newly elected Board and NEC members. AIR as an organization will benefit greatly from your contribution to our leadership.
I also want to take a moment to again thank the NEC for their work in creating such an excellent slate of candidates. It is an incredibly important task that the NEC performs for AIR, and I appreciate the committee’s efforts that made this year’s election a success. Finally, I want to thank all of the nominees and candidates who submitted materials to be considered during the election process. Your willingness to engage in the effort is part of what makes AIR so strong as an organization, and I sincerely hope that if you were not elected this year, it doesn’t discourage you from considering being a part of the process and throwing your hat in the ring again in the future (spoken as one who was not elected the first time they were nominated for the Board!).
I also want to strongly encourage our membership to vote in future elections. These positions are incredibly important to the long-term vitality of AIR, and yet we still only see about 1 in 5 members voting in the elections. I hope we see increases in the future.
I know this spring has been very fraught as institutions have worked hard to comply with ACTS. I want to thank the AIR Executive Office for all their efforts advocating on behalf of the IR/IE community and for the valuable information they provided as the process evolved over time.
The 2026 AIR Forum is just around the corner. I look forward to the opportunity to interact with so many of my colleagues and hearing about the great work you are doing during your presentations. If you have not registered yet, jump to it, and I look forward to seeing you in Washington D.C.
