AIR and Urban Institute Launch National Study on ACTS Implementation

  • by AIR

The Association for Institutional Research (AIR) and the Urban Institute are partnering on a national study examining how colleges and universities are implementing the Admissions and Consumer Transparency Supplement (ACTS) and the experiences of the professionals responsible for reporting the required data. The study will gather input from institutional research and effectiveness leaders and data practitioners to better understand implementation challenges, resource demands, data availability, interpretation of reporting requirements, and the broader impact of ACTS on campuses. Findings will help inform future improvements to the data collection and contribute to a clearer understanding of how the resulting data can best be interpreted and used.

As part of this effort, AIR and Urban Institute will conduct a national survey and a series of focus groups in the coming months, including sessions at the 2026 AIR Forum. Institutions will not be identified as part of the study and will have the option to participate anonymously. If you receive an invitation to participate, we encourage you to consider sharing your perspective. If you are interested in participating in the study, you may also complete this form https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Y3M2BTZ. Your voice can help shape a more practical, effective, and informed path forward for future federal data collections.
