Job Duties
The Institutional Research Analyst supports data-informed decision-making by collecting, analyzing, and reporting institutional data. This role plays a key part in advancing the institution’s strategic goals through data analysis, reporting, and collaboration across departments. The analyst will assist with internal and external reporting, survey administration, and the development of dashboards and other data visualization tools. Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret institutional data related to enrollment, retention, student outcomes, faculty, and other academic and administrative areas.
- Prepare and submit reports to external agencies (e.g., IPEDS, accreditation bodies) and fulfill internal data requests.
- Assist in the design, administration, and analysis of institutional surveys.
- Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate data effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Collaborate with departments to support planning, assessment, and accreditation efforts.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
- Stay informed of trends and best practices in institutional research and higher education.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in a field related to data analysis, statistics, computer science, social sciences, or education.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with data analysis, reporting, and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SAS Viya).
- Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft) and statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R).
- Experience working in institutional research or a higher education setting.
